Qualification Round

Qualifications (or quals) makes up the bulk of an event. Teams play Qualification Matches to earn Ranking points, and earn their seed for alliance selection.

Qualification Matches

Qualification matches have random alliances, so we'll play with and against a variety of teams. Past opponents will be partners, and vice-versa. The match schedule is generally released the night before.

Winning a qualification match earns Ranking Points (RP), which are a scoring system used to rank teams throughout qualifications. There are also bonus RP available for earning scoring thresholds or completing side objectives which vary year to year.

We'll usually get 12 qualification matches at events in Ontario.

Ranking/Seeding

Teams are ranked based on the average number of RP they earn per match. The team with the highest Ranking-Point Average (RPA) is the first overall seed, and so forth down the list. Ranking is extremely important for how you progress into playoffs.
